2007 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing - San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A. - September 16-19, 2007

Special Sessions

Prospective organizers are invited to submit proposals for ICIP 2007 special sessions. The deadline for proposals is December 15, 2006. The special session papers must be submitted by January 19, 2007.

Special sessions, like regular sessions, are oral technical sessions with eight speakers each. The special session organizer’s role is to invite the eight speakers, ensure that the papers are submitted on time, and chair the session itself.

Proposals for special sessions must include the title, rationale, session outline, contact information for the session chair, list of authors who have agreed to present a paper in the session, and a tentative title and abstract of each paper. Proposals for special sessions should be submitted to the ICIP Special Sessions Chair, Scott Acton (acton@virginia.edu), by December 15, 2006. Prospective organizers are strongly encouraged to contact Dr. Acton in advance.

Each speaker invited to a special session will be required to submit a paper, under the regular submission requirements, by the regular submission deadline: January 19, 2007. These papers will enter the same reviewing system as regular papers, and decisions regarding acceptance and rejection will be based on the reviews. It is possible that some invited papers may be rejected. However, this is expected to be a rare event given that the special session organizer should have recruited only the strongest papers to participate in the special session. Please note that the special session organizers and all invited speakers will be required to register for the conference.
